Our Firm
History
Formation
The earliest predecessor firm was established in the late 1960's by Aldo Basile. A post-war Italian immigrant, he established an accounting and tax practice in the inner north of Melbourne to predominantly service the large Italian community.
Evolution
During the 1970s and 1980s, the firm expanded its capability and capacity with the addition of principals with corporate accounting and audit skills.
In the subsequent decade, the firm relocated to the CBD area and reflecting the firm's broadening SME client base, re-branded as Madison Partners.
Redefinition
During the 2000s, the firm underwent its most significant structural and operational changes.
Principals with global big-four professional services skills and experience joined the firm enabling the firm to redefine its services to international corporations, entrepreneurs and executives.
Two associated organisations were established through which the firm today provides specialist consulting, wealth management and financial broking services to selected clients.
More recently, Madison Partners has expanded its technology and book-keeping services to further support international organisations desiring an Australian footprint and to provide transactional support to SME businesses.
Today
The Principals of Madison Partners believe that with the firm's existing infrastructure and human capital, Madison Partners is well positioned to deliver its stated value proposition to selected clients within the firm's target markets.
Our culture
Value proposition
Core values
Our firm has adopted a number of core values essential to establishing and maintaining an advisor relationship founded on personal and professional trust. These are:
- Integrity and Honesty
- Objectivity and Transparency
- Commitment and Reliability
- Knowledge and Excellence
- Security and Privacy
Small firm style
We believe that the positive characteristics of small firms better promote our core values and better position us to deliver our value proposition to our clients. We:
- operate a relatively flat business structure where our clients are always dealing with senior experienced personnel
- tailor our services to address our client's specific requirements
- use variable rates so that our charges reflect the complexity of the work rather than the person who performs the work
- provide fee estimates and adopt fixed fee and fee retainer arrangements (if such fee arrangements are preferred)
Personnel and Technology
Careers
The cornerstone to our success is establishing and maintaining an advisor relationship founded on personal and professional trust.
Accepting that many professional services have competency, we recognise that our culture is the most potent differentiator and plays a large role in our firm's success.
We are therefore always interested in people who believe they may be the right fit for Madison Partners.
For successful candidates, the Principals believe our Firm offers better exposure, more hands-on experience and greater opportunities to develop genuine client relationships in a more collegial atmosphere.
